Volvo to place QR Codes on all its vehicles from April

POSTED BY on Jan 15 under QR Codes

Volvo Truck has revealed their latest project that will include QR Codes on all Volvo vehicles from this April.
The QR Codes will be tied to the VIN number of the vehicle and will provide technicians detailed service records via Mack and Volvo’s management system (MVASIST).
The technicians scan the QR Code, placed in the driver’s doorframe of the new trucks. QR Codes can be created for older models as well.
The codes are capturing the model and the year of the truck through the VIN serial number.
The QR Codes are limiting the amount of time that technicians are spending inputting basic information about the vehicle. Then they can update the information and move forward with the inspection, repair process or make assignments to other specialists.
The information is then synchronized with the MVASIST platform and linked back to the customer’s service history.
