The University Católica of Murcia in Spain is trialing NFC attendance, payments and physical access project.
Vodafone, Banco Santander, Gemalto and Salto Systems are in a partnership with the local government to introduce the project.
The project will be running for 8 months in the Santander’s Universities, where more than 20, 000 students and staff members will be using NFC services.
Users will be gaining access to all the buildings including classrooms, library, laboratories, gym and parking areas.
The University has integrated the contactless solution to enable all its management needs and physical security through Salto Systems’ wireless networked locks controlling the access.
The video below is showing how a student is using his mobile device and NFC services to access to laboratory, check bus arrival, enter the school facility, check out a bicycle and attendance to class.
