Skechers has placed QR Codes to bring its static ads to life in an effort to increase brand awareness and promote new products.
The ad is running on several magazines, including Glamour, promoting the brands’ new line GOwalk and has featured the QR Code on the right corner of the ad.
Using QR Codes is a very smart move for Skechers, but the company could have included a call to action feature of some sort too.
The QR Code is linked to a page where the user can view photos of the latest Sketchers products.
However, the company could have also linked the users to a mobile website where they could buy a product.
If a brand manages to process a QR Code well, they could build a strong relationship with the customer over time, even with the same QR Code.
Skechers have also included functions such as Facebook like and Twitter site on the landing page and an email to a friend option to encourage sharing and wider consumer reach.
