In 2009 Tesco has launched its QR Code virtual shop and since the number of QR Code stores has doubled.

This year over 250 QR Code virtual stores were placed around the world and over 1500 are announced for next year.

With the rise of mcommerce, retailers are integrating their offline and online channels.

The pop up stores include QR Codes printed on magazines, on train walls or on the products. Scanning the codes brings the users to a mobile website where they can shop.

Shop2Mobi, a Dutch startup has released a new platform that offer retailers a service to start a QR Code store easily.

The platform supports all types of stores and also provides tracking and statistics.
