The creators of RAIL payment system for restaurants Viableware has put the final touches on their mobile wallet platform that is involving some of the top players in the mobile payments industry.
The list of the partners will be announced in the next few weeks, but for now the company revealed that its system will be available for the all the restaurants around the US.
The platform has being piloted by a number of restaurants in an effort to accept payments directly on the customer’s table.  The RAIL platform is using a handheld device that is designed to look and feel like a standard leather bill folder.
The devices can also calculate tips, split bills and email the receipt with a tap.
Customers can retain the possession of their card by swiping it and so lessening the opportunity for card info theft.
A recent report shows that PayPal and Visa are at the top of the list of users’ preferred mobile wallet providers with 15% and 13% respectively.
