QR Codes selling jeans with no need for sales assistants

POSTED BY on Jan 10 under QR Codes

A new clothing company has opened its first store in Seattle. The Hointer shop is selling jeans by using QR Codes.

The company’s store has no mountains of clothes, no sales assistants and no till lines.

One of each of the 150 models is exhibited in the store and tagged with a QR Code. The customers must scan the code on the preferred pair of jeans and then select their size.

The information is sent to the stockroom where a robot finds the item and the right size and drops it into one of the fitting rooms.

After trying them on and if the customer wishes to buy the pair of jeans, they must place it in a bag, swipe their card through the POS and leave without even making human interaction.
