QR Codes have been used to raise money for the Museo de la Semana Santa in Antigua.
Over one million tourists have visited the city to watch the Holy Week processions which are considered to be one of the most remarkable in the world.
Local people are working for days to make the sawdust decorative carpets called alfombras, which are later destroyed in the procession.
The Saatchi & Saatchi advertising office in Guatemala incorporated QR Code in the alfombras.
The 350 codes were scanned over 110,000 times in the 3 days of the festival and the donations exceeded the expectations by over 450%.
