QR Coded paintings at Union Gallery in Edinburgh

POSTED BY on Jul 18 under QR Codes

Trevor Jones, an Edinburgh artist, has created a series of QR Code paintings linked to the website of the exhibition they are shown in Edinburgh’s Union Gallery.

Art and technology are meeting to demonstrate how art can be connected successfully with the modern world.

The artist has a great reputation for the quality of his abstract paintings and the QR Coded ones are no different.

As Jones states, the paintings are a 21st century’s Pandora’s Box, as the paintings are scanned it is possible that something new will pop out. Thanks to social medias, people can like and comment on the website and the painting, he added.

The site has a feature that allows any artist to upload its own images and add information for potential buyers.

The images will be shown on a slideshow at the gallery, making the exhibition potentially the largest ever.

Jones’ artworks will be exhibited at the gallery in August as part of the “Mark of Beauty” exhibition..
