MissionTix shows reusable ticketing wristband

POSTED BY on May 14 under Mobile & Web News

A Baltimore-based ticketing service, MissionTix announced a reusable wristband with an NFC chip implemented in it, which offers the buyers an alternative method to tickets for supported events.
When the customer buys a ticket through Missiontix.com for a supported venue, instead of mailed ticket or a print-at-home one, the user is able to fill up the wristband and wear it at the event where it is scanned and validated.
Once the wristband is purchased, it can be “refilled”, as it is water resistant and can’t be damaged very easily. It can be worn to the event where it is authenticated with a NFC Reader.
This secure ID can be used multiple times.
MissionTix is working with Skycore LLC and the codeREADr application and from the company are hoping to include more value-add services, including stored value within local merchants and venues.
MissionTix have signed on to use the wristbands with Ottobar and Recher Theatre, thus far.
