If you are a resident or if you are visiting San Francisco or New York, you will be glad to hear that Microsoft is teaming up with Boingo to provide free WiFi.

The project is a part of the Windows 8 marketing campaign.

Boingo’s WiFi is sponsored by Microsoft and will provide free WiFi hotspots until the end of the holiday season for residents and visitors of San Fransisco and New York.

In San Francisco there will be coverage to popular areas such as Fisherman’s Wharf and Union Square, but for NY, Microsoft has gone all out starting from the 1st of November – 6 subway stations and over 200 locations in Manhattan will be offering free WiFi.
