Blippar London, an AR start-up, that has working with Heinz, Nestlé, Diageo, Sony, Mercedes and Nike and is now partnering with Maybelline New York to launch the world’s first AR nail lacquer shade shopper. The customer needs to download the Blippar application and tap the image to start the augmented reality experience.
Maybelline and Blippar’s Color Show Nail Lacquer is going live this week with AR ads in top beauty and fashion magazines.
The Blippar application is free and it is available for Android and iOS devices.
When the readers tap on the ad the Color Show jumps with 3D AR on the screen, so the customers can “try on” virtually 40 different shades of nail polish in Maybelline’s lacquer range that offers the latest nail color trends.
The customers can also take a picture of their nails and post it on Twitter, Facebook or via email.
Maybelline’s Vice President is saying that the customers will love the ability to engage with the products before they actually purchase and there is no other way for customers to experience the products like this AR campaign.
The Color Show Nail Lacquer will be available nationwide in the beginning of June, with a price of $3.99.
