Hyginex wristband ensures that doctors have washed their hands before operating

POSTED BY on Aug 30 under Mobile & Web News

As all doctors must wash their hands before performing an operation and hygiene is extremely important at hospitals, Hyginex has developed a wristband acting as a reminder, which will ensure that there is no way of infecting a patient.

The Hyginex wristband will help alert medical professionals to wash their hands properly.

Hyginex has developed a soap dispensing alert system connected to the wristband, and when the nearby unit senses doctor’s presence, a signal sets off an LED light, following by a vibration in the wristband and it also alerts other medical staff in range.

The soap dispenser keeps track of how much liquid was used and motion sensors are detecting how long their hands have been rubbing and scrubbing together.

The initial trial has shown positive results and compliance rates increased from 25% to 45% after the launch of the system.
