Harmonic Group to use RFID technology to secure newborns at hospitals

POSTED BY on Sep 5 under Mobile & Web News

Harmonic Group is negotiating with a private hospital in South Africa to incorporate its RFID technology to secure and track newborns.

The RFID ankle bracelet will ensure that only authorized medical staff will be allowed to access the nursery.

The tags will enable them to transport and monitor the babies at all times and to help parents feel safe about their newborn.

Babies have been stolen from hospitals in South Africa before and the RFID technology will help decreasing the incidents.

The wireless tag will alert the medical staff if the bracelet was removed or damaged, so they can take an immediate action.
