Gucci uses QR Codes to promote a new watch line

Gucci has released a line of watches named the I-Gucci Sport.

To promote the collection Gucci is using QR Codes that allow customers to experience the features of the watches virtually.

When the code is scanned the user is taken to mobile-optimized website where they can view images of the watches, watch videos and experience the features.


Gucci is using their social media network to distribute the QR Codes in front of the public. They are sharing images of the watches on the social networks, not only the QR Codes.

Each image of the watches have a QR Code at the right corner, so users can scan it and test the functionality of the specific watch – you can try it yourself.

Gucci’s implementation is allowing users to experience virtually with the product through their smartphones, it is not a static back end experience.
