POSTED BY on Jun 21 under Mobile & Web News

Just like others in the print industry, GQ is struggling to compete with technology of many kinds.

Although the magazine is better than others, they are still feeling the need to include interactive tech in its publications.

GQ has already made use of QR Codes and the initiative was successful, now the magazine is able to include an AR app.

The company has announced a new mobile application named GQ Live, it has a number of innovative features that are improving the reading experience of the magazine. The app is allowing the readers to activate the AR experience embedded within the pages.

A wide range of virtual content is embedded within the pages of the magazine – from interactive games to simple text or videos.

AR apps in the print industry is becoming very popular recently due to their interactive features.

The GQ Live app is using the Aurasma platform and it is equipped with image recognition tech that removes the need for markers.

The magazine expects that the GQ Live app will become popular with its advertisers that are constantly looking for new ways to engage with customers.

GQ is planning to make the app easy to use for advertisers.

It is not the first time GQ uses AR apps, the British GQ included the technology for different marketing projects in 2011.
