Four Directions ebook store has launched a unique advertising project that includes QR Codes to encourage mobile users to learn about what the company is offering.

Grey Group advertising company printed QR Codes onto cookies and then the treats were distributed in popular cafes in the area.

The businesses are encouraged to give away the treats for free to their customers.

The consumers are receiving a free cookie and a QR Code to scan. The goal is to encourage consumers to scan the code, which will provide them a free copy of an ebook.

The promotion is called “Eat what you read”.

The project has included the distribution of 8,000 treats with QR Codes printed onto them, which were given away in a single week.

During the week, the Four Directions website visits have increased with 45% and the sales have increased with 12%.

The total cost of the project, including creation of the codes, the advertising fees, the cookies and the distribution came to nearly $5,000.
