Farmers include QR Codes to their packaging

POSTED BY on Jun 29 under QR Codes

Similarly as UK’s Waitrose, farmers in Boston have added QR Codes on their packaging, so customers can track the origins of their products.

The farmers are placing QR Codes to the boxes of leafy greens, stack of cherries, bunches of carrots and when the code is scanned, the customer can see the origins of the product and their storage specifications.

Dozen of farms in Massachusetts can connect with the customers through a QR Code scan and will allow them to widen their knowledge of their purchases online.

Customers will be able to use their handsets to scan the QR Codes and to learn about the welfare conditions of the pigs raised for the pork products, for instance, including recipes and cooking tips.
