POSTED BY on May 15 under Mobile & Web News

The Bord Gais Energy theater in Dublin became the first live entertainment location in Ireland that installed a contactless payment reader.

A special terminal has been placed in the theater and will allow customers to make contactless transactions up to £12 with a tap of their contactless-enabled bank cards.

The reader is provided by the joint venture of Allied Irish Banks and First Data Corporation, called AIB Merchant Services and the eCommerce company Live Nation and live entertainment.
The general manager of AIBMS said that the company is inspired of the success of contactless technology in Europe and the UK.

The transaction is made in seconds, saves the customers time and they don’t need to carry loose change.
The cardholders can keep track of their payments on their bank statements.
