Asus shows the Transformer Book

At Computex in Taipei, Taiwan, Asus revealed their new Ultrabook laptop – Asus Transformer Book that can become a tablet.

The new devices will allow customers to get the best of both tablet and laptop worlds, as the Transformer tablet will be more powerful with Windows 8, than the Asus Tablet 600, that is installed with Windows 8 RT.

The laptop/tablet hybrid comes with 4GB DDR3 dual channel RAM, HDD high-capacity storage, SSD, NVIDIA discrete graphics, a third generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processors, Full HD IPS display with multi-touch capabilities, available in 11.6, 13 and 14-inch sizes, which is rather big for a tablet device.

The model will come with 5MP rear-facing and a HD front-facing cameras.

No word on availability or pricing, but is it expected to launch in October along with the new Windows 8 OS.
