Apple has paid over £13 million for the right to use the Swiss railway clock design

Apple has paid over £13 million to the Swiss railways over its use of the clock design.

The design is used in Apple’s latest OS, so the company was forced to license it.

In October Apple licensed the design from the Swiss Railways and at that time, the terms were not made public.

The clock was designed in 1944 by Hans Hilfiker and its design is an icon that did not lose its appeal in the digital age.

The red second hand is symbolizing the reliability and innovation that are the main qualities to both Switzerland and SBB.
