Android is back on the top position as the best selling operating system in the US.
Apple’s iOS lead the market share with 53.3% for 3 months until October last year, when Apple and Android devices were at almost the same price.
Not from October 2012 to January this year though, quite the opposite – Apple has increased its pricing with around $145, while Android dropped with $96.
Android powered smartphones jumped to 49.5% of all sales in the US, up with 6.5% over the same period a year earlier and iOS is second with 46% of the US market.
However Apple still has a strong hold on their domestic marketplace with 3 of the top 5 selling smartphones in the US and more unified OS, applications and device ecosystem than Android.
